Privacy Policy

Text to Talk does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There is no account, no sign in, no analytics, and no server that belongs to this app.

What stays on your device

The sentences you type, the phrases you save, and your voice, speed and pitch settings are stored only on the device you are using. On iOS that is the app's own storage. In a browser it is that browser's local storage. Deleting the app, or clearing your browser data, deletes all of it. None of it is ever sent anywhere.

Speech

Speech is produced on your device. The iOS app uses Apple's built-in speech synthesizer, and can optionally download an on-device neural voice which then runs locally. The web version uses the speech engine built into your browser. What you type is handed to that on-device engine and nowhere else.

One caveat worth stating plainly: some browsers and operating systems offer cloud-backed voices of their own. If you select such a voice in your system settings, that vendor's engine may process the text. That is a property of the voice you chose, not something this app does, and choosing an on-device voice avoids it entirely.

Children

The app collects nothing from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Since the app has no server, a change would mean a new app version, and you would choose whether to install it.
